FOR YOUR INFORMATION
  • Free Spanish Classes: Did you know that more members of the church AND more citizens of the U.S. speak Spanish than speak English? Would you like to learn Spanish? The Stake Relief Society will be providing a weekly Spanish class on Tuesday evenings at the Westwood building for Relief Society members and a teacher will be given a calling to teach this class.  Please sign up on this form if you'd be interested in attending so we can see who's interested.  (I'm using a new signup website instead of Google docs, which hopefully will be more user-friendly than Google docs.  Let me know if you have feedback about using it.)
  • Housing: Please contact Ward Housing Coordinator (Cheryl Cunliffe - cherylcunliffe@gmail.com) if you have any rooms to rent in your house, short-term, long-term or part-time (Monday-Friday) or have any rental properties available, or if you need help finding housing.
  • Temple Work: Melissa and Dan Johnson would like to help you complete temple work for your family names, if you'd like help.  Please contact them directly about this.
  • Choir practice will be held at 9:00 a.m. in the Relief Society room closest to the courtyard every Sunday.  Please come enjoy singing!  LaRon is looking forward to making beautiful music with you and needs your contributions!
Volunteer at the Prison: If you'd like to volunteer to visit the prison with other members of the stake, please contact Scott for more information: scottcporter@hotmail.com

Emergency Preparedness reminder:
The First Presidency recommends building a three-month supply of food. Each month a recipe will be provided that includes nonperishable food items. When storing food it is important to keep track of expiration dates and store food in proper conditions.  The First Presidency recommends to store what you eat and eat what you store. This allows a rotation of the food before the expiration date. Cooking without power is another concern in times of emergency. The following website list the many options available: www.yourfamilyark.org. There are instructions on how to build your own oven using cardboard, foil, and charcoal or links on where to purchase solar oven. Our goal is to make some progress every month. Good luck.
Earthquake preparation:  We've had some warnings lately, right?!  Check this link for some info on how to be prepared for the bigger stuff! http://www.earthquakecountry.info/downloads/ShakeOut_Recommended_Earthquake_Safety_Actions.pdf

The center is open from 12-5 pm the second Sunday of every month. We are also beginning to offer video training classes from the FamilySearch Wiki, which we hope will be well attended.
