Stake Networking Night: We'll be holding our monthly Stake Employment Networking Night at the LA Stake Center this Thursday, 7:30 pm. Please attend if you are one of the following: job seekers: unemployed, underemployed, new graduates, or transitioning into a new field; ward employment representatives: to share their expertise and receive additional training; ward leaders (bishopric, priesthood, and relief society): they are the most acquainted with who else in the ward is working in similar industries or has skills, experiences, or connections that might be helpful; stake leaders: they often are familiar with others in the stake who may have skills, experiences, or connections that may prove useful - they are also most familiar with stake resources; anyone else who has useful networking contacts in industries that might be hiring (they don't need to be there to recruit, just offer advice, provide coaching on preparing for interviews or improving job search focus or preparation) In short, networking night focuses on the needs of the job seekers, but provides a wonderful opportunity for ward and stake leaders to become directly involved in brainstorming, supporting, and providing both temporal and spiritual counsel and strength to job seekers. We have had wonderful responses from those who have attended -- please help us continue with this great work. While not every leader will be able to attend every networking night, we do encourage each ward to ensure that at least one or two of their leaders are present to provide feedback in their ward council and welfare meetings.

Not only does this item come in handy for rainy weather during an emergency but it can come in handy to use for privacy in getting dressed, sponge bathing and using an emergency toilet. Looking Ahead
Father & Son Campout: Friday, May 6. This is a camp for all ages located in the heart of Malibu at the Malibu Creek State Park. Everyone will start camping sometime after 4 pm on Friday, May 6 and will enjoy the outdoors until later the next day. Take the 101 West towards Ventura, Exit Los Virgenes Rd. Turn left, go about 4 miles to Malibu Creek State Park. Proceed to the group campground. Please Carpool, no minimum or maximum age. If you would like your son to attend and his Father is unable to go, please contact a member of the Bishopric or hyour home teacher so arrangements can be made.

Stake Women’s Conference: Saturday, May 7 from 9:30 am-12:30 pm at the LA Stake Center: "Building a Firm Foundation" All are invited to enjoy a variety of classes and activities offered that will be informative and uplifting. A light lunch will be served afterwards.
